Application for Raivis Galante (Finally Done <3)

THE CHARACTER

Full Name: Raivis Galante
Age: 15 but can pass for much younger
Hometown: Riga, Latvia

Appearance: At a mere 4 feet and 5 inches tall, Raivis is far more petite than most every other model in the agency- leading most of his jobs to be modeling children's wear. He has short, somewhat curly honey- colored hair and moderately fair skin. Other than his outstanding lack of height and slight frame, his other outstanding feature is his blue-violet eyes (which he can tear up on command) and long eyelashes- in fact, he even did an ad for mascara which he will refuse to tell anyone about. Though he usually has a rather anxious expression on his face, he has a smile that seems to light up a room.

Raivis is embarrassed to admit it but he absolutely CANNOT dress himself to save his life. None of his clothing ever seems to fit-in fact, the majority of his shirts have sleeves that go ages past his hands. He does seem to have a large collection of hoodies and shows a preference for burgandy. Baggy knee shorts are practically his uniform. All of his presentable looking outfits are suit-type things and his collection of bowties is beginning to rival that of his hooded sweatshirts.

He tries to avoid taking off his shirt at all costs because, despite not even passing 100 lbs, he still has a softness to his belly.

Personality: To say the least, Raivis is timid. He has a very mild personality in every sense of the word and it takes him quite some time and gentle reassurance for him to trust people. His confidence level is near nonexistent and he tends to come off as a teary, stuttering mess.

Though he's quite sensitive and physically weak (both in the "not strong" sense and the "prone to getting ill" sense), he's got a few things in his favor. He's far smarter than most anyone gives him credit for and, if given the opportunity, he'd impress others with his vocabulary. There's also a trace of a manipulative streak to him (ie using his cutesy appearance to sway others to make certain allowances for him).

He's very unsure of himself and tries his best not to offend others but he has a bad habit of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. One would think that his uncanny ability to attract bad luck and his clumsiness would hinder him during modeling but, as soon as he's in front of the camera, he becomes graceful.

Though quite shy and almost antisocial, he's a people-pleaser by nature and would do almost anything to make someone he cares about smile.

Reason for Modeling: Raivis is in it for the money...he'd much rather be behind the camera, helping the photographer than in front of it but his family does need the funds.

History: Having either 6 or 8 older sisters (Raivis had a hard time keeping track due to they all look alike) he had to make an incredible amount of effort to be noticed by his parents. Not that they didn't love him or anything-they did, dearly but they just had a difficult time remembering about him due to his quiet nature. Despite having to wear girl's hand-me-downs, he really did enjoy having older sisters. They pampered him, the protected him from bullies (which there were quite a few of) and they let him read their silly dime-store romance novels.

As large families in countries with awful economies do, the Galante family fell into debt. Between his older sisters' college educations, a high rent on their house and paying for Grandmama's medications, there simply wasn't enough money to go around.

Trying to come up with a way to make ends meet- the family noticed something: their only son was incredibly cute. And photogenic. And very, very eager to please.

Raivis was more than happy to help his family through modeling- sure he had to wear some fairly strange clothes on occasion but his family was paying attention. He also liked it because while he was modeling, he didn't have to go to school (instead learning on his own) and therefore, didn't have to deal with bullies nearly as often.

To further develop his talent, his original agency in Latvia decided to send his to the US and put him under the wing of the Axis Modeling Agency.

To this date, Raivis misses the crazy, crowded chaos of his home and family and lives in an apartment with a few others connected to the agency so he feels less lonely.


Other Important Info: Raivis, despite being so quiet and a bit antisocial, he absolutely hates being alone. He also really doesn't like the cold and only has one good friend (his buddy Peter). He also loves Jane Austen novels, Taylor Swift music and is, to his embarrassment, pretty much a model housewife.

Raivis didn't usually make a habit of wandering the streets alone at night-in fact, it seemed like a rather awful idea but...well, someone had to do the grocery shopping right? All the other members of the Russian House were busy and the Latvian really didn't want to bother them with the fact that their bread, eggs, potatoes and vodka supplies were reaching critical levels.

He hummed a little tune to himself as he walked around, arms filled with grocery bags (for some reason, it wasn't thought a wise decision for Raivis to learn how to drive...) nearly having s heart attack every time a stray cat wandered across his path.

Calm down, Raivis... no need to be so jumpy...it isn't like walking around with a gallon of milk and snack foods is illegal.. Still, it was hard to shake that feeling of paranoia. Trying to bury himself in the safety of his red hoodie, handlessly, he hummed a little louder.
