Appearance:
Arthur Kirkland is exactly 175 cm tall, making him 5’9’. Being a model, he is skinner than most people, yet he takes care in making sure he is toned and fit. Luckily for Arthur, his body type is small and skinny. After all, appearance is everything in this world. Arthur has delicate and well groomed sandy blonde hair, it is only made to look messy, trying to give Arthur a certain style. Due to meticulous care and washing, Arthur’s skin is pale and nearly flawless, except for a few scars on his torso. On the other hand, his defining trait happens to be his abnormally large eyebrows. Normally, one would pluck such things, but Arthur instead has turned it into a sort of symbol of himself. After all, a key part to fame is making oneself stick out, and that was what Arthur was born to do.

Personality:
It would be a lie to say that Arthur Kirkland is cool tempered and even headed. Though he tries to hide it from his bosses, various reporters, and the general public, Arthur is renowned for his hot temper and general ill content.

A cynic and malcontent to the core, Arthur is bitter and not fond of others. His philosophy on dealings with other people can be summed up in one quote of his, “I can only handle people in extremely small doses.” However, contrary to what he’d like people to believe, Arthur is not a total misanthrope. He does enjoy the company of others, provided that they are up to his standards. Although he does force himself to attend social gatherings as well as parties, but this is mainly so Arthur can gather influence and money as well as fame and attention.

It takes quite a bit for Arthur to warm up to a person, but once someone gains his trust that person finds that Arthur is a loyal and steadfast friend. Arthur values his friends dearly, but he also holds grudges for long periods of time. Some have joked that it takes Arthur at least 200 years to let go of grudges. They’re probably not too far off.

However, not all his grumpiness is truly honest. Arthur often uses it as a tool to hide his anxieties. He doesn’t wish for people to know of the anxieties that lurk in the back of his head, spawned by pessimism and the modeling world he resides in. To fully deal with his anxieties and the fact that he bottles everything up, Arthur drinks copious amounts of alcohol. He is known for his frequent drunken rampages.

It is also important to note that Arthur is quite the diva. With his temper and drinking problem, Arthur can be very unpleasant if you get on his bad side. Unfortunately, since Arthur is quite particular, it is quite easy for one to get on that side of him.

Reason for Modeling:
Arthur wants fame, power, and money. He was given the opportunity to model, and he took it right up.

History:
Arthur Kirkland was born to honest parents who had some of the more modest and simple occupations in life. Arthur’s father was a wealthy and successful businessman who made most of his money by conning his various customers. As for his mother, she assisted the father in his many conning schemes.

For the first part of Arthur’s life, he and his siblings were mostly raised by his mother. Arthur grew quite close to his mother, gaining his love of fairy tales and various superstitions from her. Unfortunately, when Arthur reached the age of 7, his mother died due to illness. His siblings did what any reasonable family in grief would do, they bullied young Arthur into becoming their personal slave. When Arthur reached puberty, he finally figured out how to fight back, and thus was promoted from the level of slave. Arthur then went through what he later termed his “rebellious teenage years” in which he participated in some illegal and unsavory activities.

After a few years of maturing, Arthur cleaned himself up and began his career as a model. As of late, his relationship with his family has become quite strained due to Arthur’s extravagant and reckless lifestyle. This lifestyle has brought much scandal and shame to Arthur’s family, who now treats him worse than ever, which is why he is rarely, if ever, at home.

RP Sample:
Arthur never could make it through the nightly parties without some form of alcohol in his hands. Tonight it was rum that had been brought in by his bootleggers earlier this week. He wondered how many police bribes he and his patrons were drinking away.

Noting that one of his rather rich customers were making their way towards him, Arthur quickly finished up his glass and grabbed another drink. He felt the need to be intoxicated when trying to maintain a good public image. They exchanged pleasantries and small talk before the patron left to mingle with the chaos.

Parties like this made Arthur sick, all the noise, people screaming, the loud band playing, he had a headache, so another drink of rum was in order for Arthur. However, he felt the need to attend, after all his source of money and spirits was quite important to Arthur, plus he hoped to run into some of the people he didn’t dislike too much.

Before he got the speakeasy, Arthur wasn’t much of a drinker, but now he was an alcoholic. A part of him idly wondered what had caused him to change so radically. Perhaps it wasn’t the speakeasy, things had seemed different after the war, and Arthur had hoped that maybe things would be different here in America, but he was wrong. Yet, at least here, he was making money.

Spying a familiar face, Arthur made his way through the crowd that was pulsing with the beat of the music. A stench of alcohol and cigrettes swirled around the dancers as he forced his way through them, searching for someone.

Oh Arthur...You've really left me speechless. Ah, but if he is superstitious then I take it he doesn't believe in the one where the camera steals your soul? Or does he just not look directly at it? Either way you are accepted.
